Student choir from IL comes to NYC for Faith Walk, sings at St. Paul's Chapel

Fifty-three high school students from Our Saviour's, Naperville, Illinois, came to New York City in mid-June on a singing tour and servant event.   Arranged through Koinonia NYC, an LDRNY partner, the students were members of the Our Saviour's choir, Eagles Wings. Under the direction of Lynn Panish, the choir sings on tour each year, and chose New York City for their most recent trip.

The group went on a Faith Walk at Ground Zero, arranged by Koinonia NYC, and sang at St. Paul's Chapel, where many rescue and recovery workers took comfort after Sept. 11.  The group also stayed one night at Koinonia in Highland Lake, N.Y., an outdoor Lutheran ministry, and one night at Our Saviour's Atonement, Manhattan, where they sang at Sunday service. They also stayed at Seafarers and International House, a Lutheran seafaring ministry in New York City, and did service work at St. Luke's, Manhattan.

"It's a real partnership of many Lutheran ministries,"? according to Pr. Ann Tiemeyer, director of Koinonia NYC.
