LDRNY Welcomes LDR National Director

LDR National Director Heather Feltman visited the Comfort and Renew Center recently to meet the LDRNY staff and partners.  Rev. Feltman became National Director in July of this year, following the retirement of Rev. Gil Furst. 

During her visit, Rev. Feltman met with Executive Director John Scibilia to discuss LDRNY’s programs, as well as to hear about the various unmet needs still faced by New Yorkers in the wake of 9/11.  She was also introduced to Koinonia NYC Director Ann Tiemeyer, who spoke about New Ground day camps, Faith Walks, and other programs for young people.  Marlene Lund, Director of the Lutheran Schools Association and a Wheatridge award recipient, spent time with Rev. Feltman discussing the problems faced by teachers and administrators, as well as parents, in a city still recovering from 9/11’s economic and emotional devastation.
