The food programs at St. Peter's, Manhattan, and Trinity Lutheran, Brooklyn, were the recent recipients of grants from ELCA World Hunger. The $5,000 grants -- used to restock food shelves that have been hard hit since Sept. 11 -- were advocated for by LDRNY. "Meal programs continue to struggle with increases in attendance of more than 50 percent since Sept. 11," said LDRNY's Jennifer Singer, who coordinated the grant. "I want to express our gratitude on behalf of LDRNY for your ministry among the hungry in New York City."
