Lutheran Disaster Response of New York, a founding member of New York Disaster Interfaith Services (NYDIS) was honored last week at the NYDIS Annual Meeting for its financial support and work with the Unmet Needs Roundtable.
Dr. John J. Scibilia, executive director of LDRNY, emceed the event, lauding all the work done to develop NYDIS in just a year.

The event was held at St. Paul’s Chapel, where recovery workers came during the 9/11 cleanup to rest, have a meal, pray and find some respite.
Others honored included: Chadbourne & Parke, LLP; The Council of Churches of the City of New York; Episcopal Charities of the Diocese of New York; Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies; God’s Love Is Needed Now; International Orthodox Christian Charities; The Presbytery of New York City; Safe Horizon; Stroock – The Spirit of New York; and the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
